Dear Colleagues,
We achieved ISO 9001:20105 accreditation from UKAS at the end of last week. I did not inform you yet because on the schedule of accreditation there is a mistake, we are now having a new accreditation number and that new number was not shown on the schedule on the UKAS web site. Two working days have passed and it has still not been rectified, so, we could not really wait any longer to inform you.
So, in terms of conducting ISO 9001:2015 audits this is the plan moving forwards:
1) All auditors to have taken the 9001 and 31000 training courses. This has been completed by all auditors with the exception of 6.
2) New applications for ISO 9001:2015 for clients not certified to ISO 9001:2008 can be added in as projects now, this is working.
3) For clients who are certified to ISO 9001:2008 and will transition over 2 visits, I need to talk to Doug to check if he has code in the system to deal with this yet.
4) The e-file I am assured will be finished before next Monday but we don't want to issue it for general release as there many be some issues, perhaps some cells not wrapping or large enough and so on.
5) I suggest the way forwards is to choose the most competent auditor for each OSP and for one audit to be carried out, Stage 1 and then Stage 2 on a brand new client. We will review this first file and feedback. Each OSP shall then be responsible for feeding back to all auditors and instructing them properly in the new system and the new way of recording and conducting the audit. After the first file is approved there will be no limitations on any auditors.
6) For ISO 14001 we have been told the UKAS lead auditors report has been rejected again by the UKAS file reviewer. So many rejects tells me that our UKAS assessment manager is not good and I will be pushing to have him not come to global again.
Regards, Alan
PS The accreditation number will change from 0039 so please do not send anything out this week with the UKAS mark and accreditation number on until we find out the new number.
